Browse Windows

The Browse windows throughout Pinnacle will allow you to locate particular entities for viewing or updating. There are separate browse windows for every main object in Pinnacle. For example, in the Assets module there is a browse window for the assets in the system. In the Work Orders Module, there are separate browse windows for the backlog work orders, work order templates and the work order history.

You can access the browse window for any object by selecting Browse from the appropriate menu. The browse window displays a list of the appropriate items. The horizontal and vertical scroll bars may be used to browse through the details displayed. You can open any item by double clicking on the desired row, by selecting Open from the File menu, or by clicking the Open button on the toolbar.

The Open toolbar button

When you open an item from the Browse window, the Browse window is not closed. In fact, the Browse list must always remain open if there are any item windows of it's particular type open. If you have an item window of the same type open and you attempt to close the Browse window, the system will minimise the Browse window, but will not close it.
