Attributes Table

In Pinnacle, you can record attributes that you can then link to assets, properties, work orders, or contracts. The attributes are any values that you wish to record for assets, properties, work orders or contracts that are not already recorded as a standard field in Pinnacle.

There are two types of attributes: static, and dynamic. Static attributes are attributes of an object where you only need to know the current state of the attribute, that is, no history of the attribute value is required. Dynamic attributes are attributes where you need to record and keep the attribute value at different points in time. Static attributes can be converted to dynamic attributes, but dynamic attributes cannot be converted to static attributes.

Examples of static attributes might be: height, colour, number of wheels. Examples of dynamic attributes might be: distance travelled, kilowatts consumed.

Once an attribute has been defined, you can apply the attribute to assets, properties, contracts, work orders, templates, suppliers, or any combination of these.

You use the attributes table to maintain the overall list of attributes and the format of the data for each attribute. The Attributes table has two different tabs for recording information about an attribute. The tabs are: Browse, and Details.

Browse Tab

The Browse tab is a list of the attributes that have been added to the table.

Details Tab

The Details tab shows the detailed information that you can record about each attribute. The fields available on the Details tab are:

You cannot change the measurement type for an attribute once you have saved the attribute.

If you want to see the valid field format characters for alphanumeric attributes, click the button next to the Alpha Format field. Pinnacle will display a window listing the valid field format characters.
