The Estimated Materials tab lists the materials that you estimate will be required to complete the tasks for the work orders that will be generated from the template. The estimated materials are used to forecast the material costs for the work order.
The following information is available on the Estimated Materials tab:
Task Number - This is the task number that you want to assign a material item to. You can select a task from the list of tasks that have been defined for the template. You can select the same task more than once if the task requires different materials to complete it.
Stock ID - This is the stock item that is required to complete the selected task. You can select a stock item from the stock items that have been set up in the Stock Module and defined as material items. When choosing a stock item, if the template has an asset selected on the Details tab, the drop down list will display any spares for the asset at the top of the stock items list.
Material Description - This is a description of the material item required to complete the task. If you select a stock item from the list of material stock items, Pinnacle will automatically fill in the material description.
Units - This is the units of measurement for this material item, for example centimetres, litres, kilograms. When you select a stock item from the list of material stock items, Pinnacle will automatically fill in the units.
Contract - This indicates whether the material is a contract material, or an in-house material. If a contract has been selected for the template, this will default to Contract. If no contract has been selected, this will default to In House.
Estimated Quantity - This is the quantity of material that you estimate is required to complete the task. If you change the estimated quantity of material, Pinnacle will ask if you want to recalculate the Estimated Cost.
Estimated Cost - This is the estimated cost of the material required to complete the task. The estimated cost will default to the issue price of the stock item multiplied by the estimated quantity, but you can overwrite this if you wish.
Available - This indicates whether the material item is available or not. If you have not selected a stock item from the Stock Module, the Available flag is set to "N/A". If you have selected a stock item, the system will check if there are enough stock items for the estimated quantity required. If there are more stock items on hand than required for the template, the Available flag will be set to "Yes". If there are not enough stock items, the Available flag will be set to "No".
