The locations tab contains the information on the whereabouts of the stock item. The stock on hand can be distributed amongst many different locations.
The fields on the locations tab are:
Location Code - The location code is the stock location where the stock item is held. The location codes are the locations defined in the stock locations table. You must select a location code.
Description - This is the description of the location code. This is automatically filled in by the system when you select a location code, and it cannot be edited from this tab.
Bin - This is the bin number within the location where the stock item is held. The bin number must be unique for this location and this stock item.
Barcode - This is the barcode number for this bin at this stock location.
Quantity - This is the quantity of stock that is currently held at the location. This number is updated when orders are received, items are issued or written off, and so on. This number cannot be edited directly.
Last Stocktake - This is the date on which the last stocktake was carried out on this bin and this location. This field is updated by the system when a stocktake is performed, and cannot be directly edited.
Preferred - This indicates the preferred location for issuing the stock item from.
