Budget Groups Table

Budget Groups allow you to organise budget codes into logical groups and then restrict access to those codes based on the budget groups that you have access to. An unlimited number of budget groups can be defined and assigning access to budget groups is managed on the Staff & Non-suppliers table.

The access restriction on budget groups applies when viewing budget codes in the Ledger Browse Window, all Budget Module Reports, viewing and raising MWAs and Planned Maintenance Templates in the MWA Module, and all MWA and Planned Maintenance Template reports. This means that you will only be able to view, edit and report on those budget codes whose group you have access to, and you will only be able to add, edit and report on work orders and templates that have budget codes whose group you have access to. This access is, of course, still dependent on you having the appropriate Security Module access rights to perform these functions.

A standard blank Pinnacle database includes a default budget group named "Group 1". This can be deleted if you do not want to use budget groups at all, or you can rename it to something more meaningful if you wish.
