Change Asset Class for Fixed or Equipment Assets

When an asset is added, the selected asset class will remain the same for the asset throughout its life. However, there are some circumstances where you may need to change the class of an asset from a Fixed asset to an Equipment asset, or vice versa.

To bulk change the asset class for Fixed or Equipment assets:

  1. Run the Asset Module.

  2. Choose Bulk Actions>Change Asset Class from the Asset menu.

  3. Pinnacle will display the Bulk Change Asset Class window. The Bulk Change Asset Class window displays a browse list of Fixed and Equipment assets.

  4. Highlight the assets that you want to change the asset class for. You can use the Filter button to narrow down the list of assets.

  5. Click the Change Asset Class button.

Pinnacle will display the Change Asset Class window.

  6. You can choose whether to change Fixed Assets to Equipment Assets. You can also choose whether to change Equipment Assets to Fixed Assets.

If you change a Fixed Asset to an Equipment Asset, any repair history will be lost, and any maintenance contracts linked to the Fixed Asset will no longer be linked.

If you change an Equipment Asset to a Fixed Asset, any reference details will be lost, any spares details will be lost, and any permits will no longer be linked.

  7. When you have made your choices, click the OK button.

Pinnacle will change the asset classes of the selected assets based on your choices. Once the change of asset classes is complete, Pinnacle will return to the Bulk Change Asset Class window.
