Asset Tree Browse Window

The Asset Tree Browse window shows the assets that have been defined in a hierarchical fashion. The hierarchy tree shows the assets grouped by the various different classification levels. The top level in the hierarchy tree shows the asset classes. Below the classes are the asset categories, below them are asset types, and so on.

If an asset type or asset description has been set up in the lookup tables but there are no assets using the type or description, the asset type or asset description will not be displayed in the Asset Tree Browse window.

If an asset does not have an asset description, it will be displayed on the hierarchy tree below its asset type. If an asset does have a description, it will be displayed below the asset description.

Components are also displayed on the hierarchy tree, below the assets that they belong to.

If an item has a plus sign (+) then there are more items below it in the hierarchy. You can click on the plus sign to expand the next level in the hierarchy. When a level in the tree is expanded, the plus sign will change to a minus (-) sign. If you click on the minus sign, the level will be collapsed.

If an item does not have a plus sign next to it, then there are no more levels below it in the hierarchy.

This window is a visual representation of the asset hierarchy. It allows you to see how your assets fit together in the overall scheme of assets.
