The Communications Configuration Defaults window allows you to set up default e-mail information for the Pinnacle Communications Interface Module. The settings in this window will not be used unless you have the PCI Module enabled.
The Communications Defaults window also has an information button next to the Message Type drop down list box to display codes that you can use to insert information in the Message Body. For example, you can use the code <LA> for the Location Address in the message body. When the e-mail, fax, or SMS is generated by the PCI module, the message body will be created with the actual location address for the work order or job request.
The Communications Configuration Defaults window has several options: E-mail, Fax and SMS.
The E-mail defaults you can specify are:
Server Name - This is the name or IP address of the e-mail server.
Character Set - This is the ISO character set to use when creating the e-mail.
Sender - This is the default sender e-mail address that you wish to be listed in the e-mail.
Include Recipient - This check box indicates whether to use the default e-mail recipient for all e-mail messages. If the check box is turned off, the recipient of the e-mail message will be determined at the time the e-mail is generated.
Recipient - This is the default recipient e-mail address. This will only be used if the Include Recipient check box is checked on.
Message Type - You can select the e-mail type for the Message Body. You can choose from either a Work Order Message, or a Job Request Message.
Message Body - You can enter message details for the Work Order Message and for the Job Request Message. These message details are used when a Work Order Message or a Job Request Message are sent by the Pinnacle Communications Interface Module.
The Fax defaults you can specify are:
Server Name - This is the name of the fax server.
Protocol - This is the protocol used by the fax server. There are several different protocols available. You will need to review your fax software to determine which protocol to select.
Use NT Authentication - This indicates whether to use Windows NT Authorization when connecting to the fax server.
Authorization User ID - This is the user ID to use when connecting to the fax server.
Authorisation Password - This is the user password required to authorise the sending of the fax.
Has Cover Sheet - This flag indicates if the fax has a cover sheet.
Process Server Queue - This flag indicates if Pinnacle should process the fax server queue.
Delete Sent/Erroneous - This flag indicates if whether Pinnacle will delete any sent faxes, or faxes sent in error from the fax server queue.
Include Recipient - This check box indicates whether to use the default fax recipient for all faxes. If the check box is turned off, the recipient of the fax will be determined at the time the fax is generated.
Recipient - This is the default recipient fax number. This will only be used if the Include Recipient check box is checked on.
Message Type - You can select the fax type for the Message Body. You can choose from either a Work Order Message, or a Service Request Form Message.
Message Body - You can enter message details for the Work Order Message and for the Service Request Form Message.
The SMS defaults you can specify are:
Server Name - This is the name of the SMS server.
Encoding - This is the type of encoding used to send the SMS. You will need to refer to the information from your SMS server in order to determine the correct information for this field.
Sender - This is the mobile phone number from which to send the SMS.
Target - This is the mobile phone number to receive the SMS.
Include Recipient - This check box indicates whether to use the default SMS recipient for all SMS messages. If the check box is turned off, the recipient of the SMS message will be determined at the time the SMS is generated.
Recipient - This is the default recipient mobile phone number. This will only be used if the Include Recipient check box is checked on.
Company Code - This is a code that you can set to indicate your organisation name that will be transmitted with the SMS.
Campaign - The campaign allows you to take advantage of special prices from your SMS service provider. You will need to refer to the information from your SMS provider in order to determine if you should use any value for this field.
Priority - This is the priority level of the SMS to be sent. The SMS priority can be any number from 1 to 10, with 1 being the highest priority, 10 being the lowest.
User Name - This is the user name for the SMS service.
Password - This is the user password for the SMS service.
Message Type - You can select the SMS type for the Message Body. You can choose from either a Work Order Message, or a Job Request Message.
Message Body - You can enter message details for the Work Order Message and for the Job Request Message.
