Toolbars

The toolbar is a row of icons which provide a quick way to perform some of the most common tasks in Pinnacle. Anything you can do with a toolbar button can also be done by selecting a menu item, however most people find the toolbar more convenient for frequently performed operations.

If you move the mouse pointer over a toolbar button and leave it there briefly, the icon's function will be displayed.

Customising the Toolbar

When you first enter one of the Pinnacle modules, the toolbar will appear at the top of the frame window, just below the menus. You may wish to alter the appearance of the toolbar to meet your own preferences. You can tell Pinnacle to place the toolbar on any side of the frame: Left, Right, Top or Bottom. The toolbar can even be placed in a floating window which you can move around and resize as you wish. You can also show some explanatory text on each of the toolbar buttons to help you see what each button does. If you wish you can even stop the toolbar from being displayed at all.

There are two ways to customise the toolbar:

  1. Move the mouse pointer over the toolbar and press the right mouse button. A popup menu will be displayed showing the available toolbar options. The options which have been selected will have a check mark beside them. To change the appearance of the toolbar simply click on the options you wish to use.

    OR

  2. Choose the Toolbars... option which appears under the Help menu. A window will be displayed allowing you to set your preferred toolbar options. If the toolbar has been turned off, you will need to use this method to turn it back on since you can't right-click on a toolbar which isn't there!
