Contract Skills Tab

The Contract Skills tab displays any skills that are required for the contract. These skills are used in the Work Order Module when recording tasks against a work order.

The Skills tab displays two boxes. The box on the left of the window displays all the skills that have been assigned to the contract. The box on the right displays all the skills that are available to be assigned to the contract.

To assign a skill to a contract:

  1. Open the Contract window.

  2. Find the contract to which you wish to assign skills. Change to the Skills tab.

  3. Highlight the skill you want to assign in the list of available skills, or use the Control key as you click on the list of available skills to highlight more than one skill.

  4. Click on the single left arrow or double-click on the highlighted skill.

    The skills you highlighted will move from the list of available skills to the list of assigned skills.

To assign ALL skills to a contract:

  1. Open the Contract window.

  2. Find the contract to which you wish to assign skills. Change to the Skills tab.

  3. Click on the double left arrow.

    All skills will move to the list of assigned skills.

To remove skills from a contract:

  1. Open the Contract window.

  2. Find the contract from which you wish to remove skills. Change to the Skills tab.

  3. Highlight the skill you want to remove from the list of assigned skills, or use the Control key as you click on the list of assigned skills to highlight more than one skill.

  4. Click on the single right arrow or double-click on the highlighted skill.

    The skills you highlighted will move to the list of available skills.

To remove ALL skills from a contract:

  1. Open the contract window.

  2. Find the contract from which you wish to remove skills. Change to the Skills tab.

  3. Click on the double right arrow.

    All skills will move to the list of available skills.

Increasing the Skill Rates for a Contract

The skill rates are defined in the Contract Skill Rates table, however you may need to increase rates for a contract across the board. To do this, you can use the Skills tab to apply a percentage increase to all skill rates for this contract.

To change skill rates for a contract:

  1. Open the Contract Window.

  2. Find the contract that you want to change the rates for. Change to the Skills tab.

  3. At the bottom of the window are the fields that allow you to change the skill rates fore the contract. You can type in the percentage that you want to change the skill rate by. If you want to increase the rate, enter a percentage that is greater than 100%. If you want to decrease the rate, enter a percentage that is less than 100%.

  4. Type a date for the rates to take effect from.

  5. Click the Apply Now button.

    Pinnacle will add new entries in the Contract Skill Rates table for the currently selected contract and skill, across all rate types. The skill rate for the new entries will be the default rate in the Skills table for the contract, skill, and rate type, adjusted up or down by the percentage entered against the contract.
