A write-off is a method of removing stock items from the system that are no longer available for issue. The write-off might be for a number of reasons, for example food items that have spoiled, or paper items that have been water damaged.
The writeoffs tab displays the writeoffs that have been added for the current stock item. The top part of the window displays a summary list of the writeoffs. The bottom part of the window displays the full details for the writeoff that is currently highlighted in the summary list.
Once a writeoff has been added and saved, you cannot edit the writeoff. If the incorrect quantity was saved, you must raise another writeoff with negative or positive amounts to adjust the previous writeoff.
