Moving a Property

Once a location has been defined and placed in the hierarchy of locations, you may need to change location's position in the hierarchy. You can do this from the Property Tree Browse Window, by dragging the property into the new position in the hierarchy.

When you move a location in the hierarchy, all locations and assets that are below the location in the hierarchy will be moved with it. If you have a location defined at the top level of the hierarchy, and you have the maximum number of locations possible defined below this location, you cannot drag and drop this location under another location. For example, if you have a location with six locations below it (giving you a total of seven levels of hierarchy, the maximum allowed), the top level location cannot then be moved below another location, as this would mean that the total number of levels in the hierarchy would be exceeded.

To move a property:

  1. Open the Property Tree Browse Window.

  2. Expand the levels until the location that you want to move is displayed.

  3. Expand the levels until the location that is to become the parent location is displayed.

  4. Click and hold the left mouse button on the location that you want to move.

  5. Drag the location icon to the new parent location, and release the left mouse button.
