Creating a Property Asset from a Property

When you have created properties in the Property module, you may find that you want to record other information about the location that cannot be found in the Property module, such as financial information. If you want to treat the property as though it were an asset, you can create a property asset from your property.

Once you create a property asset from a property, you can access the asset from the Assets Module, and treat it in the same fashion that you do any other asset.

If a location has been defined as a property asset, you cannot reverse this process and remove the property asset from Pinnacle. In addition, you cannot delete the property until you dispose of the property asset from the Assets Module. Once you have finalised the asset, you can then delete the location from the Property Module. Because of these restrictions, you should make sure that creating the property asset is the right step to take.

To create a property asset from a property:

  1. Open the property that you want to create an asset from.

  2. Change to the Details tab.

  3. Click the Asset check box.

  4. Choose Save from the File menu

    OR

Choose Save from the popup menu

    OR

    Click the Save toolbar button.

Pinnacle will create a property asset for the property, and will display an asset number instead of the Asset check box.
