You use the spares table to record spare component items. You can add components to assets by using components from the spares list, and when asset components are removed or deleted, you can return them to the component spares list.
The spares details are almost identical to the component details. When you add a component to an asset from the spares list, the system will automatically fill in the component information from the spares list. When you remove a component to the spares list, the system will automatically fill in the spares information from the component.
The Spares table has several different tabs for recording information about a supplier. The tabs are: Browse, and Details.
The Browse tab is a list of the spare component items that have been added to the table.
The Details tab shows the detailed information that you can record about each spare. The fields available on the Details tab are:
Component Type - This is the component type for the spare item. You can select the component type for the spare from the list of component types that have been set up in the Component Types table.
Component Description - This is the component description for the spare item. You must select a component description for the spare from the list of component descriptions that have been set up in the Component Descriptions table.
Rate - This is the component type rate for this spares entry. You cannot edit this field.
Set Of - This is the number of spare items recorded for this spares entry.
Purchase Date - This is the date that the spares item was purchased.
Warranty Expiry Date - This is the date that the warranty (if any) for the spares item expires.
Serial Number - This is the serial number of the spares item that was assigned to it by the manufacturer.
Node - This is the network node number. This field name may be different if you have specified a field name in the Asset Defaults.
Domain - This is the network domain number. This field name may be different if you have specified a field name in the Asset Defaults.
