When you have a large number of asset types recorded in Pinnacle, you may find that some asset types have been added incorrectly, or that there are a few asset types that really should be the same asset type. Pinnacle will allow you to merge a number of asset types into one asset type.
Open the Asset Types lookup table.
Choose Merge from the File menu
OR
Choose Merge from the popup menu.
Pinnacle will display the Merge Asset Types window.
Select the asset types that you wish to merge.
From the drop-down list, select the asset type that you wish to merge all the other asset types into.
Choose whether you want the Asset Types to be deleted after the merge.
Click the OK button.
Pinnacle will find all the assets that have the asset types that you selected. The asset type for these assets will change to the asset type that you chose to merge into. Any changes in postings will also be done. If you chose to delete the asset types, all the asset types that you selected to be merged will be removed from the asset types lookup table.
