Merging Asset Descriptions

When you have a large number of asset descriptions recorded in Pinnacle, you may find that some asset descriptions have been added incorrectly, or that there are a few asset descriptions that really should be the same asset description. Pinnacle will allow you to merge a number of asset descriptions into one asset description.

To merge asset descriptions:

1. Open the Asset Descriptions lookup table.

2. Choose Merge from the File menu

   OR

   Choose Merge from the popup menu

   Pinnacle will display the Merge Asset Descriptions window.

3. Select the asset descriptions that you wish to merge.

4. From the drop-down list, select the asset description that you wish to merge all the other asset descriptions into.

5. Choose whether you want the Asset Descriptions to be deleted after the merge.

6. Click the OK button.

Pinnacle will find all the assets that have the asset description that you selected. The asset description for these assets will change to the asset description that you chose to merge into. If you chose to delete the asset descriptions, all the asset descriptions that you selected to be merged will be removed from the asset descriptions table.
