Finding an Asset

There are many ways you can look for an asset using the browse windows, but you may want a quick method of finding an asset. If you know the asset number you can find the asset quickly. Or you may want to find all the assets that have a certain attribute, or value for an attribute. You can use the Find Asset option to find your assets quickly.

To find an asset:

1. Open the Asset Module

2. Choose Find from the Asset menu

   OR

   Click the Find Asset toolbar button

   Pinnacle will display a dialog box that will let you decide how you want to find the asset.

3. If you want to find the asset based on its number, click the Asset No radio button, and type the Asset Number into the adjoining field.

   OR

   If you want to find the asset based on its barcode number, click the Barcode No radio button, and type the Barcode Number into the adjoining field.

   OR

   If you want to find the asset based on its serial number, click the Serial No radio button, and type the Serial Number into the adjoining field.

   OR

   If you want to find the asset based on an attachment, click the Attachment radio button, and type the name of the attachment into the adjoining field

   OR

   If you want to find the asset based on an attribute, click the Attribute radio button, and choose the attribute from the drop-down list of attributes.

   OR

   If you want to find the asset based on an attribute value, click the Attribute radio button, choose the attribute from the drop-down list of attributes, and type the attribute value that you want to find in the Attribute Value field. If the attribute is a pre-defined attribute, you can select an attribute value from the list of pre-defined attributes values for the attribute.

4. Click the OK button.

   Pinnacle will search for and display the first asset that matches the Find criteria that you have chosen. If no asset can be found that matches your selections, Pinnacle will display an error message.
