If a large number of identical or similar assets need to be added to Pinnacle, rather than separately entering the details for each asset, you can enter the details once and clone the required number of asset entries, each of which will have the same details.
You can then add or modify the details of the cloned assets that make each asset unique, e.g. serial numbers or barcode numbers.
Run the Asset Module. Open the Asset window for the asset that you wish to clone.
Choose Clone from the Asset menu

Choose Clone from the popup menu
OR
Click on the Clone toolbar button.
Pinnacle will display a window showing you the details that will be cloned for the asset.
Type in the number of assets that you wish to create. Please note that the number of assets to clone is the number of new assets that you want to create. It does not include the original asset that you are cloning from.
Check the boxes next to the information that you want to clone from the original asset. The check boxes for the assets to clone are checked based on the settings that have been defined in the Asset Defaults window for cloning.
Click the OK button.
Confirm that you want to clone the new assets. NOTE: Check that the number of assets to be cloned is correct.
Pinnacle will display a window to allow you to specify some information for the new assets that cannot be copied from the existing asset. The window will show the new asset numbers that will be created, and will allow you to type in the following information for each asset:
Barcode number
Serial number
Acquisition Date (this will default to the acquisition date of the asset you are cloning from)
Acquisition Price (this will default to the acquisition price of the asset you are cloning from)
Equipment ID (if you are cloning an equipment asset)
Type in the information for the new assets.
Click the OK button.
Pinnacle will add the required number of assets with the same information as the original asset based on your selections in the cloning window, and except for the information that was specified in the Cloned Asset Details window. Pinnacle will display the last asset in the list of newly cloned assets.
