Uploading Maintenance Data from a PDA

Once you have completed your tasks on the PDA and you want to send that data to Pinnacle for processing, you must perform an upload from the PDA to the Pinnacle WebService. Please see your WalkAbout Maintenance Instructions for details on how to upload data from the PDA.

When the data has been successfully uploaded to the Pinnacle WebService, you must then process the upload before the additions and modifications will be made to the Pinnacle data.

To process the uploaded data:

  1. Run the Pinnacle Asset Module, Property Module, or Work Order Module.

  2. Choose Upload Maintenance Data from the Interface menu.

Pinnacle will display a window listing all the uploads that have been performed. The window will show the session ID, the user ID (which will be listed as "PDA"), and the start date and time, and the end date and time for the upload session.

  3. Highlight the upload session you want to process.

  4. Click the Process Data button.

Pinnacle will then take all the data uploaded from the PDA and will process it. Any condition assessments added on the PDA will be added to Pinnacle, according to the normal rules associated with adding condition assessments. Any modifications made to work orders will be changed in Pinnacle. Any static attribute changes or dynamic attribute value additions made to locations or assets will be updated in Pinnacle.

  5. Pinnacle will then display a message to indicate whether the upload was processed successfully.
