Setting the Sort Order for Attributes

When you are linking attributes to either property groups, contracts, MWAs, assets or suppliers, you can also set a sort order for the attributes. The sort order is displayed with the Attributes on the Attributes tab for the assets, properties, contracts, MWAs, PM Templates, or suppliers, so you can choose to sort the Attributes by the Sort Order field. This means that if you don't want the attributes displayed in alphabetical order, for example, you can change the display order.

To set the sort order for attributes:

1. For Asset attributes, open the Asset Types table and change to the Attributes tab

   OR

   For Contract attributes, open the Define Contract Attributes table

   OR

   For MWA/PM Template attributes, open the Define MWA Attributes table

   OR

   For Property attributes, open the Property Groups table and change to the Attributes tab

   OR

   For Supplier attributes, open the Define Supplier Attributes table.

2. Click the Sort button.

   Pinnacle will display the attribute sort order window. Only the attributes that have been assigned can have a sort order set for them. If you have a filter applied to the assigned attributes box, the sort order window will only display the attributes that are visible in the assigned attributes box.

3. In the Sort Order field, type in a numeric value indicating the order in which you would like the attribute to appear. You can use the spin controls to increase or decrease the number.

4. Click the OK button.

   Pinnacle will save the sort order for each attribute, and will display this field on the Attributes tab for the main object.
