To be able to use Pinnacle, you must be a registered user. A list of users who are allowed to access Pinnacle are kept in the Users table in the Administration Module.
Your user ID uniquely identifies you to Pinnacle, and is used to work out what functions you are allowed to access. Your password ensures that only you are able to use your user ID to log in to Pinnacle. This is important because when you make changes to Pinnacle, those changes are recorded in the audit trail along with your user ID.
