Faxing a Work Order/SRF

When work orders are raised, you may want to fax the work order or the SRF. For example you may want to fax the work order to a maintenance department so that the work can be carried out, or fax the SRF to the contractor so that they can commence work on the SRF.

The ability to fax work orders and SRFs requires that electronic faxing has been set up for your organisation. Pinnacle can be configured with a separate utility program, called PinFax, which interfaces Pinnacle to WinFax Pro 10, a popular Windows-based faxing package. WinFax Pro is sold separately to Pinnacle. If you wish to be able to fax electronically from Pinnacle, please contact your support provider.

To fax a Work Order/SRF:

  1. Open the work order that you want to fax. To fax a work order, change to any tab except the SRF tab. To fax an SRF, change to the SRF tab.

  2. Choose Fax from the Backlog menu

    OR

Choose Fax from the popup menu

    OR

Click the Fax MWA/SRF toolbar button.

  3. Pinnacle will display a window with the default fax number. You can change the fax number if you wish. Click the OK button.

Pinnacle will send the fax to the electronic fax queue. If you are faxing an SRF, Pinnacle will also automatically update the faxing information for the SRF, and will set the SRF status to Faxed.

If you are faxing an SRF, you can also choose to bypass sending the fax to the electronic fax queue, but still update the faxing information and SRF status. When the default fax number is displayed, click the Bypass button instead of the OK button. You cannot bypass faxing a work order.
